It is made from pure barley malt grown in Ascona: fermentation and distillation take place at the Locher brewery in Appenzell, after which the spirit matures for at least 12 years in 500-litre casks previously used for sherry and port, in the Ascona cellar.\n\nThe amber colour anticipates a harmonious, sweet nose, with notes of dried fruit, pear syrup, sherry and port.
