Settemaggio: A Choice That Speaks of Ticino

For Sapori.world, choosing a producer means choosing a story, a territory and people who put real care into what they do.

We chose Settemaggio because in its wines we find an agricultural, family-run Ticino, made of vineyards, hills, seasons and daily work. Behind the winery are Nicola, Raffaele and Eliana Marcionetti: three siblings who have turned a family inheritance into a recognised winemaking business, without losing the bond with the land where it all began.

Their vineyards lie between the hillsides of the Bellinzona area and the Bassa Leventina. Here Merlot and other grape varieties ripen in a distinctive alpine setting, where soils, exposures and climate give the wines freshness, elegance and character.

What we like most is the consistency of their work: the grapes come from Settemaggio's own vineyards, the harvest is done by hand and every wine is guided by a clear idea. From Irti Colli, which lets the purity of Merlot speak for itself, to the more structured reds slowly aged in barrique, each bottle interprets the territory in its own style.

Settemaggio also looks to the future with concrete attention: for years it has been experimenting with disease-resistant grape varieties, able to reduce the use of pesticides and offer new expressions of Ticino wine.

This is the kind of producer we want to tell the story of on Sapori.world: not just a name in the catalogue, but a family that gives value to its own territory and turns it into flavours worth sharing.
