Terreni alla Maggia: The Delta That Feeds Ticino

Where the Maggia river meets Lake Maggiore, between Ascona and Locarno, lies one of Ticino's most fertile farming areas: the Maggia Delta.

This is where Terreni alla Maggia grows durum wheat, corn and rice, turning them into products with a direct link to the land.

From field to table, no shortcuts

Durum wheat grown in the Sopraceneri is milled at the Maroggia mill and worked by Pastificio Simona in Ascona to make bronze-die spaghetti, penne and nidi. The rice, Loto variety, has been grown using the dry method since 1997: a firm grain that absorbs flavours well in risottos.

A wider project

Alongside grains, Terreni alla Maggia produces honey, vinegars — including one awarded at the International Alpine Food Contest — and baked biscuits, and also oversees the wines of Cantina alla Maggia, a business sharing the same territory and the same attention to quality.

Why Sapori.world chose it

We chose Terreni alla Maggia because every product tells a short, verifiable supply chain: from the field in the Maggia Delta to the package that reaches your home.
