Liquore Nocino CAM 50 cl.

A liqueur that preserves a rural tradition of Ticino: just grappa and green walnuts, picked on the night of St. John according to popular custom. The walnuts are left to macerate in Merlot pomace grappa together with sugar and spices, then aged in steel in the Ascona cellar. The nose opens with a bouquet of macerated green walnuts and spices; the palate is sweet and spicy, with notes of clove, nutmeg, vanilla and lemon zest intertwining with the enveloping character of the walnuts. In Ticino this liqueur is also known as "ratafià", a name that recalls the old monastic custom of sealing an agreement with a sip and the Latin formula "rata fiat". Characteristics: 30% vol., 50 cl format. Pairings: perfect at the end of a meal, neat or on ice, or poured over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
