Description: The Manhattan certainly has its place in the Hall of Fame. This classic was created in the 1870s by Dr. Ian Marshall for Jennie Churchill's birthday at the Manhattan Club. The guests loved it, and it has remained on cocktail menus ever since.

Tasting notes: A bold short drink, dry and lightly bitter, well balanced with a full-flavoured whisky. Ideal as an aperitif.

Serving suggestion: Pour over ice cubes, stir and spritz with an orange twist, which is then left in the glass.
