Whisky Ascona Single Malt 50 cl.

Ticino's first single malt, distilled by Cantina alla Maggia since 2008. It is made from pure barley malt grown in Ascona: fermentation and distillation take place at the Locher brewery in Appenzell, after which the spirit matures for at least 12 years in 500-litre casks previously used for sherry and port, in the Ascona cellar. The amber colour anticipates a harmonious, sweet nose, with notes of dried fruit, pear syrup, sherry and port. On the palate it is soft and round, with sweet flavours of dried fruit, dates and dried figs, and a long, enveloping persistence. Characteristics: 43% vol., 50 cl format. Pairings: ideal at the end of a meal, to be enjoyed neat in a tasting glass, perhaps alongside a square of dark chocolate or dried fruit.
